The Austin Music Minute is gonna put it to you straight: This is going to be one of those massive shows that you’ll have to show up early for, otherwise you may not get in. And this ain’t your ordinary hootenanny. Introducing Scootenanny, putting a unique twist to the much-loved celebratory musical gathering with the spotlight on some of Austin’s best talent in the electronic music vein.
Just have your dancing shoes ready and prepare for a major blast of awesomeness: The Octopus Project, Night Drive (whose song “After Dark” is featured on today’s AMM), Ishi, Holiday Mountain, The Black and White Years, Orthy, Corduroi and AJ Vincent. As if this all weren’t enough, there will be special DJ sets by Neon Indian, Learning Secrets and Bagheera. It’s all going down tonight at the Historic Scoot Inn, 1308 E. 4th St., on the outside stage. The music starts in the afternoon at 2 p.m. and will go on into the evening. Recommended.
