Here we go again on the Austin Music Minute, singing praises of another superb triple bill happening tonight at Stubb’s indoor venue, 801 Red River. This is three times the goodness.
– Headlining the show is Dana Falconberry. I’ve raved quite a bit over her album, Leelanau, a mesmerizing cascade of orchestral folk-pop punctuated by delicate bursts and breathtaking sweeps in a heartfelt tribute to the rural parts of Falconberry’s home state of Michigan. Extremely talented and absolutely genuine.
– Also on the bill, an excellent quintet from Houston, BUXTON. They strike an extraordinary balance between traditional Americana and rock ‘n’ roll, resulting in a tremendous sound reaching beyond folk.
– There’s a songwriter to keep your eye on, Matt Bauer, who rounds out tonight’s fabulous bill. Bauer is a master craftsman of orchestral folk that shines with an unusual beauty.
Doors open at 8 p.m. This one comes highly recommended.
