Genuine Leather single release show, Thursday at Mohawk, with Minivan Dad and Mr. Kat.
Genuine Leather‘s latest “Getting Used to the Feel,” their first release since the 2023 EP Genuine Pleasure, reflects some intensified emotions from a scary uncertainty. Songwriter/vocalist/producer Chris Galis was inspired by the ensuing hesitancy and slow, unsteady return to anything resembling normalcy as COVID began to level out. These days, the song takes on a new meaning as an examination of feeling discomfort in one’s own skin, or within one’s surroundings.
Take a second look at Mohawk‘s website when you read the announcement for Genuine Leather’s single release show tomorrow night, Thursday May 16, on the inside stage. You’ll find Galis’ personal welcome message, and a promise of some damn good tunes. Doors at 8 p.m. Minivan Dad and Mr. Kat join them on the bill. Coveralls optional, and no need for a porta potty, Mohawk has bathrooms.
