The Glass Coffin’s World Dracula Night

Before Austin’s premiere vampire shop closes in August, it’s hosting one more big event. Capes on, fangs out.

AMM May 25 2024

The Glass Coffin’s World Dracula Day party tonight, with live music by The Immortalz.

Those who are darkly inclined, including your black-clad bat-winged AMM host, bid a tearful but fond farewell to one of Austin’s much-beloved unique shopping experiences, The Glass Coffin, and its neighboring parlor, The Velvet Casket, home to a handful of local shops that include an apothecary, artwork and a variety spooky wares. Due to the upcoming I-35 expansion, they’ll be forced close in August, but not without having one final event celebrating the OG creature of the night.

The Glass Coffin is hosting World Dracula Night, a precursor to the official World Dracula Day on Sunday, featuring spooky vendors, photo ops, live music by the official Bat City Scaregrounds house band The Immortalz, and more. The gathering is this evening, 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. Feel free to wear your finest vampire attire, but bring your parasols and fans to keep cool, and stay hydrated. You’ll find The Glass Coffin & Velvet Casket at 3009 N. I-35.

Parlor at The Velvet Casket.
