Gone Wild

Who: You’ll find that Wildcat Apollo‘s band bio tells the story of an alien psych-pop quartet coming from a line of “feline spacepeople” residing in the Andromeda Galaxy. In the not-so-far-out real world, vocalist Cat Tassini is actually from New Jersey, and Austin natives Taylor Eichenseer and Alex Margolin spent a considerable amount of time in New York City. Last year, the band decided to join Taylor’s brother Aaron Eichenseer back in Austin to make music. It was a big move, but one they’re grateful for making, especially because of the extremely supportive local music scene.

What: There’s an almost indefinable kind of uninhibited and jubilant youthfulness that practically explodes from their music. Their self-titled debut release leaps from rock and shoegaze to electronic and dance. And you have the chance to experience it all at their show.

When and where: Tonight at Lambert’s, 401 W. 2nd St. Sharing the bill is Corpus Christi quintet Peace and Quiet, with a bit of a disclaimer here – they’re anything but peace and quiet. Bring the earplugs and prepare to rock out. Doors open at 9:30 p.m. Recommended.
