Happy 30th, KVRX!

Gus Baldwin & The Sketch

Thirty years’ worth of none of the hits, all of the time. KVRX is cooler than ever.

AMM Nov. 15 2024

KVRX’s 30th Anniversary Benefit tonight at Mohawk.

Today’s AMM is taking a cue from morning host Taylor Wallace on this one. Did you know that UT student-run station KVRX has alumni at KUTX? It’s true. And a few of KUTX’s super cool interns are also currently part of the KVRX crew. The obsession with music runs deep in our respective radio families.

We’re bringing that mad love to KVRX’s 30th Anniversary Benefit tonight to Mohawk‘s outdoor stage for the excellent line-up featuring Garrett T. Capps and NASA Country, Gus Baldwin & The Sketch (“[She’s Gone] Arigato” from the forthcoming album The Sketch is today’s AMM-featured track), TC Superstar, and Matador Sphere. DJ Gross Y’all is in charge of the playlist between sets, and rather well-known KVRX alum Britt Daniel (Spoon) has graciously provided some very cool items for an awesome Spoon memorabilia raffle.

So, after enjoying KUTX’s Vinyl Happy Hour with Taylor Wallace out at Lou’s East this afternoon, 4-7 p.m., make your way to Mohawk for this badass KVRX 30th birthday bash. Doors at 8 p.m.

Here’s to many more years, KVRX.
