Her Mana at The Pershing

Kate Robberson and Emilie Basez continue a journey of transcendence and healing through music.

AMM Feb. 6 2025

Her Mana residency at The Pershing starts tonight, with Daniel Fears.

If you’ve immersed yourself in the rich, world folk-inspired compositions and harmonies of Ley Line, you’ll recognize the talents of founders Kate Robberson and Emilie Basez in their latest project as the duo Her Mana.

The name can be two-fold; in Spanish, hermana means sister, while “her mana” may denote a divine feminine magic, or a supernatural force/healing power found throughout the universe according to Melanesian and Polynesian cultures. It makes sense in Robberson and Basez’s next chapter of musical exploration, as they use classical guitar, ukelele, and various percussion instruments interwoven with songs written in Portuguese, Spanish and English, in forging a connection to the earth and humanity.

Her Mana kicks off a February residency tonight at The Pershing in East Austin. Their first guest this month is longtime AMM fave Daniel Fears. The show starts at 8 p.m.
