The hunger pangs driving SPRINTS‘ latest single have less to do with food and more with genuine fulfillment. The Dublin garage-punk outfit combined their love of grunge and the literary styles of gothic fiction and body horror for the delectable “Feast”. SPRINTS offers an unapologetic examination of gluttony, consumption and desire, focusing on sexuality and romance within a queer context. It’s an explicitly self-aware perspective of “feast or famine” – will the heart, mind and body be satiated, or intentionally starved to emaciation out of guilt and self-loathing?
SPRINTS returns to Austin for a show tonight, Monday Oct. 7, at The Parish. Doors at 7:30 p.m., with NYC alt./garage rockers Slow Fiction opening the show.
