It’s one of the sweetest voices, elegance personified, with a presence so fresh yet enchantingly familiar. Austin-based songwriter/musician Holly Frost arrived to the local scene in 2009 from California and proceeded to charm music lovers with those dulcet tones and a beautifully badass cherry-red hollow-body guitar. She’s an artist who reveres the sounds and vibes of old-time classics through unique covers and original compositions in the style of jazz, folk, a dash of cabaret and pop in ways you’d never expect.
This week, Frost releases her new LP Chansons De La Cotê with a special Bastille Day release show tonight at Batch, 3220 Manor Rd., featuring a quartet performance followed by an intimate solo set taking you along the French coast. The music starts at 7 p.m.
