Yes, even though your humble Austin Music Minute host didn’t utter the words “triple bill” on this particular AMM episode, it surely is one of those treats tonight at the Mohawk. It’s gonna get massive and rambunctious with pop-rockers Shivery Shakes, and there’ll be an instant immersion into dream pop/shoegaze bliss with Ultraviolet, but there’s an extra special element to tonight’s show with a rare performance by Templo X.
Not much can be found online about Templo X, save for a vague Facebook profile explaining the band’s name (“…after an archaeological designation for a pile of rocks in the Yucatan…”), but fans will assure you they’re worth checking out. Band member Paul Brinkley, who is also the bassist for trio Mirror Travel, informed the AMM that Templo X is currently mixing their very first recordings, so keep your ears peeled. Meanwhile, you should go see all three bands at tonight’s show at the Mohawk, 912 Red River. Gonna be another great Tuesday night. Recommended.
