As well you know, the Austin Music Minute is swept away by all manner of psych. I’ve mentioned before that AMM fave The Wolf comes from the garage-rock end of the spectrum, mighty psych bandidos from hell working the classic vibes, guitar fuzz and waves of heavy sound engulfing your ears and your mind. This time around, they present their album Strange Flowers, their first full-length release following their self-titled 2011 EP, with more of those heavy riffs to bury your brain in.
Do yourself a favor and check out The Wolf at their show tonight at Hotel Vegas, 1502 E. 6th St. It’s a great line-up with pop-gazers Gang Sign, party rockers Basketball Shorts and hazy pop goodness from The Golden Ghetto. The music starts at 10 p.m. Recommended.
