There is something undeniably genuine – unflinchingly direct – about Matt Haeck‘s voice. It comes through like a kind of beacon on his debut album, Late Bloomer. One is left with the impression of an individual who feels no need to hide his faults and flaws. Late Bloomer is an open book of the Nashville-based artist, who’s also spent some time in Austin. He digs deeply into his personal experiences to reveal some universal truths.
Haeck is definitely one to catch when he’s in town. His current tour includes a show tonight at Stubb’s indoor venue, 801 Red River. Doors open at 8 p.m., and Austin-based songwriter Jason Robert Blum starts out the evening.
