Lights! Camera! Party Time!

I’ve had so much fun with songwriter/guitarist/mysterious dude Mrs. Glass. Too much, perhaps. Your humble Austin Music Minute maven cannot help herself. I love the music, and, as is often the case with someone cursed with a dork’s sense of humor, every single opportunity to chide Mrs. Glass about his name will be taken advantage of. Because I’m a weasel. From my big-mouthed wisecracks across the room (“Oooo, where’s your husband at missus? You gonna iron my shirts, missus??”) to the now notorious John Aielli quote from a Studio 1A performance (“Mrs. Glass is the ugliest woman I’ve ever seen, but she makes the most beautiful music!”), it’s all a field day for yours truly.

But tonight, Mrs. Glass and his partners in crime, drummer Ian Fry and bassist Ivan Evangelista, will be the shining stars in the spotlight for something very cool and exciting. The guys will be filming a live music video at their esteemed and widely-loved place of musical residency, The White Horse, 500 Comal St. And they’re inviting all their friends and fans out to be a part of the party. Local filmmaker Tyson Zoltan, who’s worked with bands like East Cameron Folkcore and Bridge Farmers, will be behind the camera to capture all the blackmail material – I mean, video gold.

Doors open at 9 p.m. Get there early for a lovely happy hour with The Tea Merchants at 7 p.m. That should cure you of any camera shyness. Then after the shoot, stick around for jams by Ramsay Midwood at midnight. Recommended.
