It happened at the beginning of lockdown. Son Little (songwriter/musician Aaron Livingston) found a collection of old notebooks hidden away in a closet. “There turned out to be 72 books in there,” Livingston said, dating back to the first one he received at age 9. It marked the beginning of years of cathartic release on every page, and eventually a move toward healing his inner self. Son Little’s latest release Like Neptune was crafted from revisiting these writings, delving into a troubled past, generational trauma, and self-actualization.
Son Little returns to Austin for a performance tonight, Wednesday Nov. 16, at 3Ten at ACL Live. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and the evening kicks off with a set by Moorea Masa & The Mood.
