According to Ian Orth and Ramesh Srivastava, it’s been a long time coming. Now, it’s finally going to happen.
Power/dream pop group Orthy, fronted by Orth – one half of the DJ duo/promotions vehicle Learning Secrets, and Ramesh, Srivastava’s latest musical project since his days with indie outfit Voxtrot, are both set to release new tracks later this summer and in the fall. After literally years of exchanging ideas and making plans, both are taking their new tunes on the road for a test run on a brief Lost Weekend Texas Tour. It all kicks off with a show tonight at Red 7 on E. 7th St., before they hit up Dallas for a show tomorrow night and Houston on Saturday.
And, rather than simply an ordinary show, Orthy and Ramesh are promising a more party-like atmosphere. Seize the night. Doors open at 9 p.m. Recommended.
