KUTX and the Austin Music Minute invite you to join the city-wide celebration of Love Austin Music Month. Celebrating Austin music is something we do all year round, but this month brings a little extra love to the incredible, wide-spanning talent of Austin-based artists!
Growing up on a river island in the middle of Nebraska can be the impetus for just about anything. In the case of Jess Helios, it was a fascination with the saxophone. This, of course, was accompanied by Helios’ rapidly growing passion for music-making. It didn’t take long for him to reach the Live Music Capital, where he immediately sank his teeth into multiple aspects of his favorite means of creation: Playing, recording, and the mad scientist realm of mixing and producing, leading to Helios’ first EP, The Broken Record in 2019, later followed by rock ‘n’ pop LP Apollo 95.
More is on the way from this songwriter/vocalist/multi-instrumental talent, but tonight you can catch Jess Helios and The Crew at Hotel Vegas, sharing a bill with Flyer Club and fellow multi-instrumental maestro Gaven Ludington. Doors at 9 p.m.
