Thank you for celebrating Love Austin Music Month with KUTX 98.9! While this month is designated as a reminder to support Austin music artists, KUTX celebrates the endless wealth of Austin-based talent year round with features like the Artist of the Month. This January, the spotlight shines on San Gabriel, the solo project of songwriter/multi-instrumentalist James Bookert.
Check out the wonderful pop-up performance video below, featuring Bookert performing at the East Austin liquor shop he works at – and, when not at home or in a practice space, also where Bookert fleshes out song ideas with guitar, synth and laptop in tow.
And check out San Gabriel’s show tomorrow night, Sunday Jan. 23, at The Far Out Lounge and Stage, 8504 S. Congress Ave. Half Dream and Dena Hope are on the line-up, and doors open at 6 p.m. And please remember to bring your mask.
