Love Austin Music: SINE

Your humble Austin Music Minute host would be remiss in not mentioning her soft spot for the fantastic dark end of the musical spectrum in the local scene. So, in keeping with Love Austin Music Month, as proclaimed by KUTX, the Austin Music Foundation and the City of Austin Music and Entertainment Division, the AMM puts the spotlight on electronic/alt.-rock outfit SINE, whose full-length debut INSOMNIÆ is due for release later this year. Front woman and songwriter Rona Rougeheart recorded the band’s seductive synth-pop debut single “Love High” (featured on today’s AMM) at Evil Snail Studios in Austin with Kfir Gov (Seek Irony).

It’s a dark love to embrace with SINE’s show tonight at Hotel Vegas, 1502 E. 6th St. It’s part of a quite pleasantly all-dark musical experience wrangled together by the minds behind the forthcoming Cathedral Mountain Gathering music festival. Tonight’s show also features local dark ambient duo Cortége, industrial beasts Encrypted, and the malignant souls of Hiawatha.

Of course your Music Minute maven digs this. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. So recommended.
