For Baton Rouge-born artist Shxwnfresh (DeShawn Morrison), it’s all about coming from a place of authenticity. inspired by the collective energy he experienced from an exceptionally creative point in his life when collaborating with a group artists. That’s how Shxwnfresh got his name. “We were all about bringing fresh vibes to everything we did—whether it was our music, our style, or our approach to life,” Shxwnfresh told The Breaks‘ Fresh Knight in a recent interview. “It was this collective energy that made ‘fresh’ a natural part of our identity. Shxwnfresh just felt like a perfect reflection of that spirit. It’s not just a name; it’s a reminder of those collaborative days and the constant push to keep things innovative and authentic.”
