Not Ruled by Fear

East Cameron Folkcore has always been a band powered by compassion. As ECF’s vocalist and guitarist Jesse Moore explained recently in KUTX’s Studio 1A, ECF is not the shrinking violet when it comes to expressing viewpoints so vigorously and emotionally, whether it’s been creating tributes to a beloved lost friend, or electrifying the collective conscience with searing observations and protestations of American society and its politics. And when you have the opportunity to see the band perform live, you experience this unbridled energy at its fullest.

Such is the case with the release of their third album, Kingdom of Fear, an unwavering call to action that invites the listener to face the hyped-up fears of today’s society and eliminate them. And rather than coming off as completely dark or negative, or even fearful itself, the music is instead euphoric and ever hopeful.

To celebrate the album’s release, ECF has organized a series of multiple release performances, tonight through Saturday night, at Salvage Vanguard Theater, 2803 Manor Rd. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. each night, and the music begins at 8 p.m. with a special guest performance by a different artist each night, including Dana Falconberry (tonight), Silas Lowe (tomorrow), Possessed by Paul James (Friday), and Ben Ballinger (Saturday).

A truly momentous occasion. This comes very recommended.
