Pachanga Party

It’s the local festival with international flair! Pachanga Fest 2015 kicks off tomorrow at noon at Fiesta Gardens in East Austin, 2101 Jesse Segovia. The best part of the fest is you get a bit of everything, all manner of traditional and contemporary Latin music, including rock, Tejano, hip-hop, salsa, funk, mariachi and loads more.

Featured on today’s Austin Music Minute Pachanga Fest preview is Spanish rap/hip-hop artist Mala Rodriguez, a veteran of Sevilla’s late-90’s hip hop scene who’s worked with some of Spain’s top hip hop producers, and collaborated with Nelly Furtado and Bjork. Here’s Rodriguez’s video for the song you heard on today’s AMM, “Tengo Un Trato.” And you can see her perform at Pachanga at 6 p.m. tomorrow on the Metro PCS Hierba stage.

Tomorrow’s Pachanga preview highlights songwriter and Mexico City native Ximena Sariñana, who released her solo debut album, Mediocre, in 2008, following over a decade’s worth of acting and collaborating on film soundtracks. You can see Sariñana perform at the festat 8:30 p.m. tomorrow on the HEB Pavilion stage.
