Rather than mostly outside influences, lovelytheband reached into their own creativity story.
lovelytheband made some crazy headway with their 2018 debut finding it hard to smile, especially via their breakthrough single “broken”, which seemed to take over the Billboard Alt. chart on an extended stretch, with millions of streams on major platforms. Four albums later, lovelytheband digs into their personal musical history for their latest self-titled LP, including songs written a few months back, to some from the beginnings of the band’s career, and others even before then from jams long ago. It’s a time capsule winding its way through an expansive range of emotions, reflecting on experiences from the COVID pandemic to other personal moments in their timeline.
Tonight‘s the night to catch lovelytheband and tour partner Mod Sun (singer/songwriter/musician Derek Ryan Smith) at Emo’s, 2015 E. Riverside Dr. Doors at 6 p.m., and the bill includes sets by Huddy (Cole Chase Hudson), and songwriter/producer No Love For the Middle Child.
