Planning Escapes

Former Brothers and Sisters songwriter and vocalist Will Courtney had done his time in Los Angeles and Nashville. But there was no denying the allure of Texas.. After spending another two years in Santa Fe, NM producing other artists’ albums, and traveling all over Europe as a solo artist, he found himself a log cabin in Dripping Springs. The peaceful spot provided an idyllic setting to focus on his new album, Planning Escapes.

Courtney knew that his roots were calling, and you feel it within the imagery throughout the album – life on the road, echoes of heartbreak, and a strong draw toward the rustic settings of the Old West.

Courtney and his band The Wild Bunch are celebrating the new album with a release show tonight at Hotel Vegas, 1502 E. 6th St. Damn fine bill featuring JD Clark, John Wesley Coleman, and Fort Worth band Siberian Traps. Doors open at 9 p.m. Very recommended.
