Primordial Soup

All right. Begin at the beginning. Shed all the unnecessary frills, splashes and extras, and get the bottom soil, the essence, the metaphorical ooze from where it all comes. Migrant Kids decided to get primeval with their latest EP, Primordial Soup, undulating with their self-described psychedelic jungle rock and kicking in synth rock that pairs upbeat tempos with darker tones and a moody, mysterious air. What could it all be? Anything and everything. And the gargantuan track “Religion” is a most fitting epic space-jam signature, crawling directly from that ooze, building up, then bursting in a big sonic-quasar finale.

Tonight, Migrant Kids celebrate Primordial Soup‘s release with a show at Cheer Up Charlie’s, 901 Red River. Dig this mega line-up: The Digital Wild, Black Books, and from Kansas City, Making Movies. Doors open at 9 p.m.

See them all, start to finish. Very recommended.
