For your Austin Music Minute host, this one goes back to a band called Fresh Millions.
Geoff Earle is no slouch. The multi-talented Austin musician would build entire worlds with jarring layers and explosions of electronic/rock/funk aural transmitters radiating from some rando central nervous system that wouldn’t quit. The earliest manifestation is on Fresh Millions’ 2010 self-titled release, followed by Hot New Jam From ’73. It grew like crazy tendrils from there.
Stiletto Feels (né The Big Fist) started in 2015 as an experimental series of improvised pieces on demos, recorded at multiple studios. The following year, Earle had a full band put together and a debut LP (The Big Fist, a switcheroo of names there). Your AMM host played the hell out of “Blessed City.” Loudly.
This year, Stiletto Feels released Push Back, an exhilarating propulsion of pop, rock, electro, part prog and part experimental energy that’s been around since the beginning. You, dear listener, are in for a treat. Stiletto Feels is the next featured guest on Bud’s Live and Direct. See them perform at 7 p.m. (Central) tonight, Wednesday December 16, on Bud’s YouTube channel.
If you saw Stiletto Feels’ recent performance on Safehouse, then you know. Run with it.
