Based in Central Virginia with roots firmly planted in South Texas, Ramona and the Holy Smokes whip up classic honky-tonk vibes for the next generation of country fans. Songwriter/vocalist Ramona Martinez leads the band’s self-titled debut LP through themes of achieving an important but delicate balance: A desire for love with a need for freedom. Heartbreaks, heartaches, empty bottles and uncertain dreams as in today’s featured single “Even in My Dreams”: “I’ve been dreaming about you / But even in my dreams / You’re not sure about me…”
