BLK Vintage was just the beginning. 1-800-FANTASY brings BLK ODYSSY more worldwide exposure.
It was a realization that brought KUTX Artist of the Month alum BLK ODYSSY (the music project of Juwan Elcock) to life. Personal experiences – as a Black musician, as an artist, all the influences that paved the way – define the sound and the style. BLK ODYSSY’s debut BLK Vintage blew up because the authenticity was shedding all the unnecessary layers. The curiosity to explore a variety of genres has been transformative. “I want to create something that will be culturally impactful for my people,” BLK ODYSSY told KUTX recently. “I want to do something that is impactful on a larger scale, something that is for groups of Black people across the country.”
Not only across the country, but around the world. BLK ODYSSY is about to embark upon a massive tour throughout the U.S., then to the UK and Europe in October, in support of the LP 1-800-FANTASY, a compelling concept piece chronicling unrequited desire and distorted reality. Don’t miss BLK ODYSSY’s kick off show launching The Fantasy House Tour tonight at Antone’s. The evening begins with a performance by songwriter/producer Asha Imuno. Doors at 7 p.m.
