Your humble Austin Music Minute host has had the pleasure of seeing Jai Malano perform several times, thanks to Project ATX6, and it’s always as invigorating and dazzling as ever before. The Austin-based songwriter finds inspiration in several genres – R&B, blues, blues rock, roots music, hip hop, jazz and soul, among others. And you hear it all when she sings, directly from the heart and soul. Malano takes you there.
This is well worth staying up late for on a Monday night. See Jai Malano tonight at The White Horse, 500 Comal, at midnight. Paul Nipper performs at 10 p.m., and the night starts out with the Railhouse Band at 8 p.m. Very recommended.
