In 2015, Austin Children’s Shelter and SafePlace created a partnership with the goal of better addressing the complexities of violence and abuse. However, upon realizing how deeply interconnected their work was, the two separate nonprofits formed the merger now known as the SAFE Alliance, committed to ending violence through prevention, advocacy and services for those affected by abuse.
This week, the 3rd Annual Safe & Sound Benefit Concert presents an invitation to the community to learn more about SAFE, discover ways to support their work, and enjoy live performances by Tameca Jones (featured on today’s AMM) and songwriter/musician Drew Davis. It’s all happening Thursday, Oct. 21 at The Far Out Lounge and Stage, 8504 S. Congress Ave. Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and VIP tickets are available for early access at 6:30 p.m.
