Shook To the Core

Abram Shook quite happily resides in Austin, but before settling here, the California native had the opportunity to see the world. So, consider those enriching travel experiences, paired with Shook’s work with bands like Shearwater, The Low Lows and The Great Nostaligic, and you’ll discover a deeply insightful artist with a unique pop vision.

Shook’s debut album, Sun Marquee, produced by Danny Reisch and Eric Wofford, speaks volumes of Shook’s observations as a wandering soul, made even more spellbinding by his ethereal vocal delivery. This is pop in a most exquisite form with subtle elements of psych, Americana and dark tones straight from dream.

You can pick up a copy of the new album at Shook’s album release show tonight at the Mohawk, 912 Red River, on the inside stage. This is a superb bill with Royal Forest and Good Field. Doors open at 9 p.m. Don’t let the cold deter you. Don your warmest threads and don’t miss the show. This one comes highly recommended.
