So, though it’s a bit quieter this year without all the big crowds, packed venues, day parties left and right, and ridiculous traffic (wait…go ahead and leave that last one in), SXSW officially kicks off today, and every SX event is online. Your friendly neighborhood Austin Music Minute is on hand to provide details about official SX music showcases and independent showcases, as well.
Here’s one we’ve all been waiting for: KUTX and local nonprofit EQ Austin are presenting the much-anticipated official showcase curated by The Breaks. Confucius and Fresh host performances by an all-Austin line-up featuring The Teeta, J Soulja, Mama Duke, Deezie Brown and JaRon Marshall (“POWER” from The Black Power Tape is featured on today’s AMM). Check out The Breaks showcase from 5 to 6 p.m. (Central) today, Tuesday March 16 on SXSW’s website for SX pass holders.
