Live performances are where it’s at for high-energy local eight-piece blasters The Bus Stop Stallions. As you can imagine, it’s a big band making one big show.
Their recent full-length release Crosswinds will give you an idea of what they like to unleash onstage, mixing up a lot of rock and funk with jazz and soul. Have horn section, will travel. Very reminiscent of the funk/soul outfits from the ‘70s and ‘80s, a la Earth, Wind & Fire. Just toss in a little Stevie Wonder for good measure.
The Bus Stop Stallions played Frank, 407 Colorado, on December 20th. They shared the bill with Fatback Circus and The T Jarrod Quartet. Funkified good times for one and all. Recommended.
