An instrumental force of jaw-dropping precision, Animals As Leaders celebrates the anniversary of their 2014 LP.
All music tells a story. Lyrics aren’t required. And with this in mind, Animals As Leaders remain storytellers of the ages.
It’s the artistry that legends are made of. The instrumental prog rock trio has been heralded for its dazzling dexterity and visceral energy brought to not only each of their albums, but also their mind-blowing live shows. Guitarists Tosin Abasi and Javier Reyes, and drummer Matt Garstka, connected over their mutual love of a number of genres, which unsurprisingly built a distinctive catalog appealing to many different fans, whether metal, classical, jazz or beyond.
Animals As Leaders’ current tour celebrates the 10-year anniversary of The Joy of Motion, which includes a performance tonight at Emo’s, 2015 E. Riverside Dr. Doors at 7 p.m., with Australian songwriter/guitarist Plini opening the show.
