The Missing Pages

WhoThe Missing Pages is songwriter Lee Barber‘s second solo effort, and the third musical collaboration he’s done with musician, producer and arranger Brian Beattie (Bill Callahan, Okkervil River, Daniel Johnston). Barber describes his new album as a collection of songs rich with various states of longing, a desire for whatever clarity can be achieved in life, and the overwhelmingly strong search for something that’s real. But…what exactly is reality? As Barber put it so succinctly in just a few words, “…looking for what is real behind the load of crap folks tend to obsess over.” Awesome. It’s different for everyone.

What: Speaking of awesome, Barber has assembled a fantastic, Austin all-star band for his album release show, featuring Beattie, Scrappy Jud Newcomb, Dony Wynn, Jon Green, Seela and Sahara Smith.

When and where: See them perform The Missing Pages tomorrow night at Strange Brew, 5326 Manchaca, at 9 p.m. A sensational evening of so much talent. Recommended.
