Who: The Missing Pages is songwriter Lee Barber‘s second solo effort, and the third musical collaboration he’s done with musician, producer and arranger Brian Beattie (Bill Callahan, Okkervil River, Daniel Johnston). Barber describes his new album as a collection of songs rich with various states of longing, a desire for whatever clarity can be achieved in life, and the overwhelmingly strong search for something that’s real. But…what exactly is reality? As Barber put it so succinctly in just a few words, “…looking for what is real behind the load of crap folks tend to obsess over.” Awesome. It’s different for everyone.
When and where: See them perform The Missing Pages tomorrow night at Strange Brew, 5326 Manchaca, at 9 p.m. A sensational evening of so much talent. Recommended.
