For Matt Bradshaw and Ed Dickerson, growing up in the hills of Virginia meant a thorough education in bluegrass, Americana, and Appalachian folk, each of which continue to shape modern music. It’s also part of the rich foundation of Bradshaw and Dickerson’s collaborative project, Fog & Bone, as they take a contemporary approach to the traditional sounds they love.
Fog & Bone are celebrating the release of their new EP, The Way It is (the track “Bottle” is featured on today’s Austin Music Minute), with a performance tonight at the Cactus Cafe, 24th St. and Guadalupe in the Texas Union. Doors open at 8 p.m., and the music kicks off at 8:30. The guys will be joined by songwriter Tyler Jordan and, in their own words, “some very special secretly famous guests.”
