Here before you stands one Konrad Wert, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, vocals on fire, the human embodiment of a lightning bolt, striking the hearts and souls of all who pause to listen. And you feel it, all right – the ferocity, the passion and blazing fury of someone who gives a damn. That is what it is to be Possessed By Paul James. His is a realm of roots music ignited by a punk rock spirit.
Wert’s got a long stretch of tour ahead through cities in Tennessee, North Carolina, Florida and more, but fortunately for us, there’s a hometown show. You can see Possessed By Paul James tonight at the Cactus Cafe, 24th and Guadalupe in the Texas Union on the UT campus. Austin-based songwriter Scott Collins opens the show. Doors at 8 p.m., and the music starts at 8:30 p.m. It’s best to get there early; chances are good this may sell out.
