Tigers Tour

Tony Presley has rather vivid images in his songwriting that capture moments conjuring a strangely beautiful loneliness of the mind. Imagine the faint sound of a guitar playing a few doors down; rain gently hitting the roof; the sound of gravel beneath tires on a parking lot. Perhaps “loneliness” is not the right word. It’s more introspection.

Presley is the mind behind Real Live Tigers, which has led a multi-faceted existence since it’s formation 12 years ago. The co-founder of local label Keeled Scales has mostly kept his musical project solo, although as many as eight other musicians would join him for live performances.

Real Live Tigers will be on the road for most of this month for a big tour, but before heading out, there’s a performance tonight at Hotel Vegas, 1500 E. 6th St. Real Live Tigers shares the bill with Future Museums and Gossamer Frontier. Doors open at 9 p.m., and the music starts at 10:30 p.m. A perfect start to your week. Recommended.
