The original LP just had a 15-year anniversary. Now Kush + Orange Juice 2 keeps the good vibes flowin’…
Fifteen years seems like a long time in terms of following up a great album like Kush + Orange Juice, but Pittsburgh native Wiz Khalifa was in the right place for it. There was no rush. Khalifa wanted to play with the music, experiment with different sounds, and see what direction he would go with Kush + Orange Juice 2. Though Khalifa has said there wasn’t really a need for a sequel to his breakthrough release, it was the fans that inspired the challenge. Would he create something completely new, or return to the tried and true vibe that brought the original mood? Khalifa wanted the best of both, with an organic, laid-back approach to collaboration.
Roll up and roll ’em up. Khalifa and crew bring the Smoker’s Edition of the Good Vibes Only tour through Austin tonight at Germania Insurance Amphitheater at COTA. Featuring Dom Kennedy, Earl Sweatshirt, Curren$y and Ab-Soul, plus performances by Chevy Woods, Fedd the God and DJ Bonics. Doors at 6 p.m.
