Today’s Austin Music Minute featured “The Dishwasher,” a track from the forthcoming album ODYSSEY by Chicago psych duo GOSH. Listen to it carefully, music freak.
It’s a story that’s a familiar one to many musicians, an experience that bandmates Padraig Steadman and Claire Lambach know can drive your very soul deep into a chasm of endless frustration if you lose sight of your creative drive. By day, you work a normal job, which may make you crazy. (No, wait – it definitely does.) By night, you’re doing what you love – making music. It’s this all-too-common dual existence that zaps one of any energy needed to remain on the music path. Like so many of their peers, Steadman and Lambach determinedly move forward to keep music as the number one priority, and all day jobs be damned. Because those jobs suck.
GOSH’s current tour includes a show in Austin tonight at Beerland, 711 1/2 Red River. They share the bill with The Naked Tungs, Shutterr, and making their debut this evening, Colourwheel. Doors at 8 p.m. Recommended.
