Texas Performing Arts – Kronos Quartet w/ Inversion Ensemble: At War With Ourselves — 400 Years of You
November 19 & 20
At War With Ourselves is an evening-length piece for string quartet, chorus, and spoken word. The music is composed by Michael Abels, who is best known for his scores for the Oscar-winning film Get Out and for Jordan Peele’s Us, for which Abels won multiple critics’ awards and nominations. The hip-hop influenced score was short-listed for the Oscar, and named “Score of the Decade” by online publication The Wrap.
Inversion Ensemble, an Austin-based chorus specializing in new music, will perform alongside Kronos Quartet and narrator Nikky Finney.

Big Medium Austin Studio Tour
3 Weekends – November 6-21
The Austin Studio Tour introduces the public to new ways of experiencing art and the creative practices of artists around our city. This year, the studio tour combines the former East and West Austin Studio Tours into one citywide event presented across three weekends in November.
Now in its 20th iteration, the Austin Studio Tour has become an Austin tradition and continues Big Medium’s mission of fostering connections between artists while presenting the public with a rare opportunity to engage and connect with many of the creatives that help define the culture of our city.
