My KUTX: Aaron Franklin & James Moody Preview Hot Luck Fest

Music and food go together like, um, music and food. So it’s exciting to see Aaron Franklin and James Moody team up for Hot Luck, a four day celebration of deliciousness with a side of rock-and-roll and country, taking place May 18-21.

Franklin, of course, is the man behind Franklin Barbeque, and Moody helped found Fun Fun Fun Fest (R.I.P.) and turn Red River into Austin’s live music mecca. They’ve also worn each other’s hats: Franklin played in the Austin band Those Peabodys, and Run-DMC reunited at Fun Fest 2012 over a dinner organized by Moody.

This week on My KUTX, the pair spin an hour of their favorites and talk about the early days of Franklin Barbeque, the best era of Metallica, and Run-DMC’s suitcases full of cash. Tune in on Saturday, May 13 at 6 p.m. or listen anytime at the bottom of the page.
