Adrian Healey is a familiar voice for Austin soccer fans. As the go-to English language announcer for Austin FC’s games, he’s had a front-row seat to Los Verdes’ exciting two seasons in MLS. Before his stint with the team, he called more MLS games on ESPN than any announcer and provided play-by-play for several World Cups, European Championships, and more.
Prior to finding his voice as a soccer broadcaster, Adrian was a deep music fan. He grew up near Bristol, England and immersed himself in the city’s indie rock and trip hop sounds. After a move to Boston in the mid-90s, Adrian hosted his own music show on commercial radio before jumping to commentate for the newly-formed MLS. But this week on My KUTX, he returns to his music roots as our guest DJ. Ahead of Austin FC’s first game of the 2023 season versus St. Louis on February 25, Adrian spins an hour of music that’s soundtracked all the various stops on his eclectic broadcasting journey. Hear Adrian Healey’s My KUTX on Saturday, February 18 at 6 p.m. or listen anytime at the top of the page.
