Described as “the little woman with the big voice”, Akina Adderley has claimed the spotlight of the Austin Soul and R&B scene. Since the debut of Akina Adderley & The Vintage Playboys in 2009, Akina has been featured on the cover of the Austin Chronicle and the band was named one of Austin Monthly’s 10 Bands to Watch in 2012. Led by vocalist and songwriter, Akina, the sound of the 9-piece band has been described as a rich and brassy combination of rock, funk and classic R&B.
