Once again it’s that time of the year where every band, label, and venue is bandying for your attention. But despite the typical influx of international acts and A-listers, the best SXSW shows usually end up being the ones curated by local institutions. Case in point: Art Decade Creatives‘ Official SXSW Showcase – “Austin Heavy Hitters” – happening Friday the 13th at 13th Floor.
To get a sense of what to expect from this stacked, femme-fronted lineup, Austin music aficionados and Art Decade Creatives figureheads Samara Simpson and Delaney Gibson give a preview of the Austin Heavy Hitters roster and reminisce about foundational musical memories with a playlist that’s just what you need for International Women’s Month.
