One of the biggest changes in music over the past decade has been the means of production. It’s never been easier for an artist to write, record, and release their own music, and the DIY approach can even hit on an unprecedented scale. That’s the case for Sloan Struble, a.k.a. Dayglow, who dropped out of the University of Texas last year after his self-produced debut Fuzzybrain earned millions of streams. It’s easy to hear why: Fuzzybrain is unfussy, fizzy pop that seems tailor-made for Austin’s 300 days of sunshine. This week on My KUTX, Struble brings more of that sunniness as our guest DJ. Listen to Dayglow’s My KUTX on Saturday, January 25 at 6 p.m. or at any time in the player below.
