Fontaines D.C.

My KUTX // October 22, 2022

At SXSW 2019, Dublin, Ireland’s Fontaines D.C. was the band to see, packing in small clubs thanks to a feverish word-of-mouth buzz. Three years later, the group sold out its return to Austin at the Scoot Inn. This year’s Skinty Fia, Fontaines D.C.’s third album, demonstrates how the band continues to breathe new life into rock music, mixing fiery post-punk with Grian Chatten’s haunting voice and lyrics.

While in town, guitarist Conor Curley and drummer Tom Coll stopped by to play guest DJ. Their mix features some Austin favorites from Willie Nelson and True Widow, twangy music they’ve been enjoying while touring America, and more. Hear Fontaines D.C.’s My KUTX on Saturday, October 22 at 6 p.m. or listen anytime at the top of the page.
