My KUTX: HeartByrne Picks Their Favorite Talking Heads And David Byrne Covers

Patricia Lim/KUTX

My KUTX // January 27, 2024

All weekend long, we’re celebrating Under The Covers, playing covers of songs you know, covers of songs you’ll want to know, and songs that’ll send you down the rabbit hole. And this week on My KUTX, we have a few members of one of Austin’s best cover bands to help us celebrate. Evan and Dustin Bozarth are the twin brothers at the center of HeartByrne, a group that plays all things Talking Heads and David Byrne related.

Austin has a long history with Talking Heads: they played at the famed Armadillo World Headquarters in 1979, helping bring a new wave groove to a venue more known for country and blues. This week on My KUTX, Evan and Dustin tie in more Texas connections with their cover-filled guest DJ set, while also traveling to Memphis, West Africa, and Brazil with Talking Heads and David Byrne as their tour guides. Hear HeartByrne’s My KUTX on Saturday, January 27 or listen anytime right here. Catch HeartByrne at the Paramount on March 29th.
