Lloyd Maines is a true Texas renaissance man. He’s a record producer, musician, songwriter, mentor, family man and all around nice guy. Maines has played with The Maines Brothers Band, and also supported numerous acts including the Dixie Chicks, Joe Ely, Robert Earl Keen, Terri Hendrix, Terry Allen and Jerry Jeff Walker. In 2003 he won a Grammy for Best Country Album as a producer for the Dixie Chicks’ album Home. But at heart, Maines is a pedal steel player. We’re so happy he went through his extensive music collection and picked the cream of the crop for his My KUTX session.
