In each episode of the podcast Song Confessional, songwriters and bands turn anonymous “confessions” and stories into new, original songs. The idea comes from Austin’s Walker Lukens and Zac Catanzaro, two musicians who know a lot about songwriting. But what they didn’t anticipate was the sheer emotional range of anonymous stories they’ve received: a woman first meeting her half-brother at a party, accidental drug smuggling, even tales of death on I-35.
Song Confessional is back this week with the beginning of its third season, and Walker and Zac are back as our guest DJs. They play an hour of their favorite songs from Song Confessional’s first few years and dig into the funny, bizarre, and occasionally tragic stories that inspired them.
