As a student at the University of Texas, Tamir Kalifa would take his accordion to the drag to practice because he didn’t want to disturb his fellow dorm dwellers at the time. That’s how he fell in with the Mother Falcon crew – busking on the drag – and the rest is history. We’re so excited that Tamir took some time to play KUTX DJ for an hour and give us a peak into the Mother Falcon band van playlist.
You can see Mother Falcon May 16th at The Belmont. All proceeds benefit the Margaret Moser Maternal Music Fund, a non-profit fund administered by Austin Creative Alliance which provides scholarships for disadvantaged middle and high school musicians to attend Mother Falcon’s Music Lab.
